It all started with Mary's greatgrandfather who was a New England Pewterer.
We started collecting his pewter and gradually became dealers with a number of booths in various group shops. When we retired, we wanted to keep in touch, so started the New England Antiquing Webpage. The maritime subtheme comes from Stu's greatgrandfather who was a sea captain and ship owner sailing out of Salem, Massachusetts.

Kent, our programming guru, accepted the challenge of putting together a page that was easy to read and navigate, quick to come up on the screen, and simple enough so that Stu could up-date it. I think he did a great job.

The website, Antiques & Antiquing in New England is a geography focused program organized by location. Good search engine listing have been achieved for search phrases such as:
"antiques New England"
"antiques Massachusetts"
"antique shops"
"historic houses New England"
"bed & breakfast antique houses New England"

But it is clear that the heaviest antiquing internat traffic is item focused. Therefor, we are opening a page devoted to "Antiques from New England Shops" organized by type of antique.

Item listings are supplied by active dealers. All transactions are between buyer and the dealer listing the item.
